If you look for me at Christmas Poem

A friend sent me this poem for Christmas and I thought I would share it...
You won't need a special star...
to look at from a far
I'm no longer just in Bethlehem,
I'm right  there where you are.

You may not be aware of Me
                                                       amid the celebrations---
You'll have to look beyond the stores
                                                       and all the decorations.

But if you take a moment
from your list of things to do
And listen to your heart, you'll find
                                                 I'm waiting there for you.

You're the one I want to be with,
you're the reason that I came,
And you'll find Me in the stillness
                                                  As I'm whispering your name.
                                                              Love,  Jesus

Christmas thin mint Snowman

Isn't this the cutest snowman? It makes a great gift and its soooo easy to make.

Step one:  Buy a box of thin mints.  They have them at the dollar store.

Step two:  Cover the box with white paper, and draw your snowman face.

Step Three:  Cut out a rectangle piece of red felt and fold it in half lengthwise. Hot glue gun the seam.  Glue the felt around the top of the box and add a small bow at the top of the felt hat.  Add a cute ribbon and tag.

What a great way to dress up a package for the holidays.

Your Guardian Angel---- Question #2

If you remember, Our family talked a few weeks ago about our bucket lists, and what we all wanted to do before we died.  Well, today's question is....... What would your guardian angel say about you after a week of following you around?  I know my angel would probably be sleeping because I am so boring and tired now.  Think about it and remember....

Angels are miracles sent from above,
to provide us with friendship, laughter and love.

HAPPY TO BE HOME

I recently went away for a few days, and when I unloaded my car and left my duffle bag for a few minutes... this is what I found when I returned.  I know someone is happy to have me home.

year round pumpkin

Isn't this a beautiful pumpkin?  I think I am a little obsessed with pumpkins?  A good friend gave me this one, I actually leave it out all year, because it fits my decor and it reminds me of fall, my favorite season.

Black Tie Ghosts

I'm sure you have all seen these cheesecloth ghosts everywhere, but have you seen ones ready for a formal event?   I love the black tie.  All he is missing is his ghoul friend.  (bad joke)  These are so easy and fun to make.  I have made them for years with my kids.

Easy glitter pumpkin

Do you want a beautiful easy pumpkin?  Try this 5 minute decorating tip.  Spray your pumpkin with hair glitter.I bought mine in gold at Wal-mart.  It cost $2.14!.  Spray your pumpkin outside and let dry, don't forget to spray the stem.  I love pumpkins with long crazy stems.  Add some pretty glittery ribbon, and you have a pumpkin with some serious bling bling.  Happy Halloween!!

What's on your Bucket List?

Recently our family has been talking about "Bucket Lists".  You know,  all the things you want to do before  you die!..  So we decided to write our own lists and share a few things from our lists with each other.  My oldest quickly had over 100 things on his list.. Wow!   So I decided to share a few of my "bucket list" items on my blog.

1.  See the Northern Lights in person
2.  Go to Italy and find my ancestors either living or dead
3.  Go to Maine in the fall
4.  Read all of the adventures of Sherlock Holmes
5.  Be a wedding planner

What crazy, wild life goals do you have?  I must say,  this was a fun exercise for all of us.  Give it a try and remember there are no boundaries!

Fun Edible Halloween Arrangement

Easy Halloween Edible Arrangement
Gather all the candy you wish to use, I picked out Orange,Yellow
Brown and Purple.  You will also need black licorice. I bought
a bucket from the dollar section at Target and some cupcake liners.
Lastly I bought some spider web material and wooden skewers.
You will also need floral foam for the inside of your bucket.
After you have filled your bucket with floral foam, cut
the ends of the licorice off and slide the skewers through .
Next, lay the candy down on a flat surface and tape the
candy to the skewer.  You will need several pieces of
tape to make it stable.  You could hot glue gun the
candy, but it might melt your wrapper.
Starting at the back of your bucket, place the long skewers
in the foam, alternating candies as you go.  As you move
forward use shorter skewers by cutting them, and cut your
licorice as well.  I added a cupcake liner in the middle
for a little decoration.  You could also add small balloons
and anything else you think might be fun.
For the finishing touch add your spider web and curly
ribbon around some of the skewers.  It could use
a little black spider here or there, don't you think?

Here is my 4th of July Arrangement
complete with balloons, star shaped
marshmallows and flags

I love Fall

This is the most beautiful time of the year!  I love the cool weather and the leaves changing.  It is also the season
to begin eating trick or treat candy...Oh No.  Is it ok to eat all of your children's Baby Ruth bars without them knowing?   Why can't they all just get pennies and pencils,or the occasional stale popcorn ball.  that's not a problem for me.  I never even chewed on pencils in class when I was a kid. Wish me luck,,,, I am going to need it.
